Valuing and Evaluating Music Performance

An international workshop for researchers and practitioners in music performance evaluation 

17 - 19 April 2020

The evaluation and assessment of musical performance is central to the career of any aspiring musician. Valuing and Evaluating Music Performance will bring together leaders in research alongside music educators and performers to foster knowledge exchange and translation between research and musical practice.


The workshop will address three overarching streams within the field:

  • Friday, 17 April - Underpinnings of music performance evaluation
  • Saturday, 18 April - Criteria, tools, and skills
  • Sunday, 19 April - Procedures and contexts

  • Members of Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana pay no registration fee

The registration fees include lunches and attendance at workshop presentations and activities.
